Dynamic content is one piece of text with a version per language, so a trigger sends every customer their own language.
How it works
You create a piece of dynamic content and give it a version in each language you support. Wherever you would have typed the text, you put a placeholder for the content instead.
When a message goes out, Zendesk picks the version matching the customer's language. One trigger, one macro, one template, every language.
What to use it for
- Every automatic notification. Confirmations, updates, satisfaction surveys.
- Macros your team uses across markets.
- Email templates, including the footer and signature.
- Agent status names and other interface text your customers may see.
Dynamic content or AI translation
Different jobs, and worth keeping straight.
- Dynamic content is for text you write once and send many times. Translated by a person, in advance, and exactly right every time.
- AI translation is for the individual conversation you could not have predicted.
Anything automated should be dynamic content. Machine-translating a message you send ten thousand times is paying repeatedly for something you could have got right once.
The fallback
Each piece has a default language, used when the customer's is not available. Worth checking what that produces, because the fallback is what a customer in a language you have not translated actually receives.
