Recently, Zendesk has experienced an increase of network traffic anomalies that appear to be denial of service (DDoS) events initiated with malicious intent. These events resulted in two service incidents that were published on our System Status page and via twitter announcements on November 2nd and 3rd (PDT).
Our current defensive measures have been effective at minimizing the service interruptions and we are currently working with our DDoS mitigation service to further enhance our countermeasures for these specific event types. Please note these events present no unusual risk to the security of your Customer Service Data. Customer data is secure.
During this period of heightened awareness and enhancements to our defensive measures, we will temporarily suspend public notification of network-related service events via Twitter as well as our Help Center and System Status page in order to deny useful feedback to the perpetrators. We will resume normal communications when we have verified the threat has passed.
We appreciate your understanding. If you experience a service incident that is not disclosed on our System Status page, please feel free to log a ticket to get additional information.
