Zendesk limits how many views can be active, and how many tickets a view will count. Both matter before you notice them.
Two different limits
- Active views. There is a cap on how many views can be active at once, and it varies by plan. Deactivated views do not count towards it.
- Tickets counted in a view. Beyond a certain number, Zendesk stops giving an exact count and shows an approximate one instead.
What you see when you hit them
The view cap gives a clear message when you try to activate one more. The counting limit does not announce itself: the number beside the view name simply becomes a rounded figure with a plus sign. Teams that manage by those counts notice the day it starts and assume something broke.
What to do
For the view cap, deactivate what nobody uses. It is almost always a sign of accumulated views rather than a genuine need for more.
For the counting limit, the answer is that a view with thousands of tickets in it is not a working queue. Narrow it, or accept that the count is a rough indicator and use Explore for actual numbers.
