Making a block and putting it into articles, and the naming that decides whether anyone can find it later.
Create one
- Open the content blocks list from Knowledge.
- Add a block and name it.
- Write the passage.
- Save.
Insert it
- Edit an article and put the cursor where it goes.
- Insert a content block and choose it.
- Save.
The block appears in the article and stays linked, so later edits flow through.
Name it for what it says
Writers pick blocks from a list, so the name has to be recognisable. "How to reach Admin Center" works; "Block 3" does not, and after twenty blocks nobody can find anything.
A short prefix by kind, such as steps or warning, keeps the list navigable.
Write it to stand alone
A block is dropped into different articles, so it cannot refer to "the previous step" or "as mentioned above". Write it as a self-contained passage.
Check before editing
Editing a block changes every article using it, live. Zendesk shows you which articles those are; look at that list before making a change that reads well in the one article you had in mind.
