Where has bot builder gone?
You are on the current generation. Bot builder was the flow-chart tool: you dragged steps onto a canvas and connected them. Plenty of documentation still describes it, because it worked that way for years.
It is not the only thing going: bot builder, answers and intents are removed together, so an article about any of the three is about the old generation.

Instructions involving a canvas, nodes or connecting steps are about the old generation. Instructions about describing situations and writing procedures are current.
You are not missing anything
What took a twenty-node flow is now a paragraph, and it handles the phrasings nobody drew a branch for. Structured flows have not disappeared either: the upgraded experience has its own dialogue builder alongside use cases and generative procedures.
What if I still have a flow to maintain?
Then you are past the first date: maintenance mode began 31 August 2026 and removal is 10 December 2026. A flow left on it stops that day, and moving is a rewrite rather than a conversion, so start now rather than in November.
Where to start instead
Create an AI agent, point it at your knowledge, set the escalation, and write one procedure for your most common case. That is what a flow used to do, in about a tenth of the effort.
