Can I bypass the seven day rule for Facebook Messenger

No. The reply window is Meta's rule and there is no way around it, only ways to work with it.

What the rule is

You may reply freely for a limited period after the customer's last message. After that a normal reply is refused. Meta sets the period and it differs by platform and by message type.

It exists to stop businesses messaging people indefinitely, which is a reasonable rule that occasionally makes support harder.

Working with it

  • Answer promptly. The whole problem disappears if social conversations are handled the same day.
  • Do not park them. A social ticket on hold for three days is a ticket you may not be able to answer.
  • Move to email where you can see it will take time. Ask for an address while the window is open.
  • Set expectations. If your team does not watch social daily, say so on the profile.

What not to do

Do not look for a workaround. The mechanisms that exist for messaging outside the window are for specific purposes and are policed. Using them to get around the rule risks the channel entirely.

If it happens often

That is a routing or staffing signal. A social channel routed to a team that checks it twice a week will keep hitting this, and the fix is who watches it rather than anything technical.
