Verifying your listing again after an edit

Editing your listing can trigger a new verification, and reviews stop arriving until you complete it.

What sets it off

Google asks for verification again after changes it considers significant. In practice that is the address and the business category, and sometimes the name or the phone number.

Nothing warns you that an edit will trigger it. You find out because Google asks.

Why it matters here

An unverified location is not fully live at Google, so the connection to Zendesk has nothing to read. Reviews written in the meantime stay on Google and do not arrive later once you verify.

That is the part people are caught by: the gap is permanent, not delayed.

Do it quickly

Complete the verification as soon as Google asks. The longer it sits, the more reviews go unanswered without anyone noticing, because nothing in Zendesk says a location has gone quiet.

Plan your edits

Where you can, make address and category changes in one go rather than across several weeks. One verification is one gap; four edits can mean four.

After verification

Open the account under Channel apps, refresh the locations, and check that a new review arrives.

Watch for silent locations

A store that has had no reviews for a month may be quiet, or may be waiting on a verification nobody finished. A report on review volume per store makes the difference visible.
