Use the W-AIR headset

Plan requirement

Subscription UC-Basic or higher, x-bees Device or higher

A cordless headset that carries your extension around the building, so you can take calls with your hands free.

Starting a shift

Lift the headset from its charger and it becomes active. Calls to your extension ring in your ear rather than on a desk you are not sitting at.

Taking a call

Answer and end calls from the button on the headset. Because it uses the same DECT coverage as W-AIR handsets, you can walk the building while talking.

Charging

Return it to the charger whenever you are not using it. Single and multi-chargers are available, and a multi-charger at a shared workstation solves most of the "my headset is dead" complaints on its own.

Charge it during breaks rather than only overnight. A headset used all day on a single charge is the one that dies during the call you most needed.

Comfort over a full day

Replaceable ear cushions keep it comfortable and hygienic, particularly where headsets are shared between shifts. They are consumables, so order spares before they are needed rather than after.

When audio is poor

  • Crackling or dropouts while walking points to coverage rather than the headset. Note where it happens.
  • Muffled audio is often a dirty or worn cushion.
  • Only in one spot is a coverage gap, and worth reporting with the location.

Tell us where it drops and we will work out what the base station layout should be. Moving or adding one is then a job for your installer, since we do not do the physical work.
