Set up the WhatsApp integration in x-bees

Plan requirement

Subscription x-bees Standard or higher, x-hoppers SalesFloorHopper or higher
Also required CLASSOUND Core

Getting WhatsApp working on a number takes three things, and having CLASSOUND is only one of them. It is set up per number, not per system.

The three requirements

  1. The user's plan. x-bees Standard or higher, per person.
  2. The number runs over CLASSOUND. Numbers on Multi Carrier Trunks cannot do messaging at all.
  3. WhatsApp enabled on that specific number. A setup step, carried out by us.

If you run x-bees, the first two are usually already in place. The third is what people miss.

It is per number, not per system. One number working says nothing about the next one. Each has to be set up.

What to send us

Send us a request with:

  • The exact number you want to use, in full international format
  • The business name customers should see
  • Who will be answering

The business name matters. It is what appears to the customer, so it should be the name they know you by rather than a legal entity they will not recognise.

Choosing the right number

Use a number customers already associate with you, and one that someone is actually watching. A WhatsApp number that goes unanswered is worse than not offering it: people expect messaging to be fast.

Before you promise it to customers

Agree who covers it, during which hours, and what happens outside them. Then test it yourself from a personal phone before announcing it anywhere.
