Send photos and documents by MMS from the same conversation as your calls, where the number supports it.
When MMS earns its place
A photo answers questions that a description cannot. A customer sends a picture of the part they need; an engineer sends a photo of what they found. Both save a visit or a long explanation.
What you can send
Images and common document types. There are limits on size and file type, and they vary by country and by the recipient's network. A file that fails to send is usually too large or an unsupported type rather than a fault.
Where it works
Two-way MMS is limited to certain countries. If replies never arrive from one particular country, that is the likely reason rather than anything on your side.
As with SMS, the number has to run over CLASSOUND and be set up for messaging.
Ask the customer to send one photo rather than five. Multiple large images are the most common reason a message does not arrive, and they will assume it worked.
Before you rely on it
MMS is less predictable than SMS. Delivery depends on the recipient's network and handset settings, and there is no guarantee. For anything that must arrive, use email or a link.
Attachments are customer data
Photos sent by customers can contain more than intended: an address on a document, a face in the background. They sit in the conversation like any other message, so treat them the same way as anything else a customer sends you.
