Plan requirement
| Subscription | Any plan |
| Access | Admin |
Admin Center holds the settings for every Zendesk product. Knowing its six areas saves most of the hunting.
The areas
- Account. Your plan, billing, subdomain, branding.
- People. Agents, roles, groups, organisations, end users.
- Channels. Email, messaging, Talk, social.
- Workspaces. Agent interface, views, macros, forms.
- Objects and rules. Fields, triggers, automations, SLAs, routing.
- Apps and integrations. Apps, API, webhooks, connected systems.
Two places, one product
Admin Center is where things are configured. The agent interface is where work happens. Views and macros can be reached from both, which is the usual source of confusion about where something lives.
Rule of thumb: creating and changing rules is Admin Center, using them is the workspace.
Use the search
Faster than the menus once you know what a setting is called. It is the quickest route to anything you touch a few times a year.
Objects and rules is where the behaviour lives
Triggers, automations, fields, SLAs. If Zendesk is doing something you did not expect, it is almost always something here, and that is where to look first.
Not everything is here
Help centre content and themes are in Guide; reports are in Explore. Admin Center covers their settings, not their content.
Changes are live
There is no draft state. Saving a trigger means it fires on the next ticket, so anything substantial belongs in a sandbox first.
