Leave a spoken note by phone and have the transcription land in an inbox, including inboxes outside your organisation.
What it does
Someone dials an extension, hears a prompt, and speaks. The recording is transcribed automatically and emailed on. The person receiving it reads rather than listens, which is the point: a transcript can be scanned, searched and forwarded.
Where it earns its place
- Field staff. Someone finishing a job dials in from the van and dictates what happened, rather than typing it on a phone.
- Notes to a shared inbox. The transcription goes to a team address instead of one person, so it gets picked up whoever is on.
- Sending to someone outside the company. The destination does not have to be a colleague. It can be any address.
Recording length is capped, and we set the cap. Tell us how long people realistically need to speak. Too short and notes get cut off mid-sentence; too long and a forgotten handset holds the line open.
What we need from you
- Which email addresses the transcriptions should go to
- The language people will speak in, since that determines how it is transcribed
- Roughly how long a note should be allowed to run
- Whether people will dial in from outside, in which case we need their mobile numbers on file so the system recognises them
Setting it up
The whole thing lives in the dial plan, so we build it. Send us the details above and we set up the extension.
