Plan requirement
| Subscription | x-bees Standard or higher |
| Access | WMS administrator, Salesforce administrator |
Connect Salesforce to x-bees so calls are logged against leads and your reps can work opportunities from the conversation.
Before you start
- Salesforce administrator rights, for the authorisation step
- Every user who needs it on x-bees Standard or higher
- Phone numbers in Salesforce in a format that matches incoming calls, ideally full international
That last point decides whether this works. Numbers stored locally will not match calls arriving in international format, and the integration will look dead while being perfectly configured.
Set it up
- In WMS, go to Settings > PBX > Integrations > Cloud integrations.
- Open the Salesforce integration and connect your org.
- Authorise it in Salesforce when prompted.
- Test with a call to a number that exists on a lead.
Sandbox first if you have one
If your Salesforce is heavily customised, connect a sandbox before production. Custom objects and validation rules occasionally interfere with activity creation, and finding that out in production is unpleasant.
Test with a lead that definitely has a phone number on it. Testing from your own mobile, which is probably not a lead, makes a working integration look broken.
What your reps get
- Calls and conferences logged automatically against the matching lead
- Lead lookup and creation without leaving the conversation
- Opportunities, stages, notes, tasks and summaries alongside the call
- Scheduling a call or starting a conversation from the lead
Calling from inside Salesforce
That is the separate Lightning integration, and it works with Lightning only. Most teams run both: this one brings Salesforce into x-bees, the other puts calling into Salesforce.
