Writing a template that gets approved, with placeholders for the parts that change per message.

Create one

  1. Open the WhatsApp manager for your business account.
  2. Create a template and choose its category.
  3. Write the text, with numbered placeholders for the variable parts.
  4. Provide example values, which reviewers use to judge it.
  5. Submit for approval and wait.

Choose the category honestly

Categories separate transactional messages from marketing, and they are priced differently. Submitting a promotional message as transactional gets it rejected, and repeated attempts affect how your account is treated.

Write it so it stands alone

The recipient may not remember contacting you. A template beginning "As discussed" is confusing out of context.

Name your business, say what the message is about, and make the next step obvious.

Give good examples

The example values are how a reviewer understands the template. Realistic examples get approved; placeholders filled with "test" invite a rejection.

Fewer templates, used well

Each one is submitted, reviewed and maintained. Three that cover your real cases beat fifteen that duplicate each other with slightly different wording.
