The profile is what customers see before they message you. A few fields, and nothing prompts you to fill them in.
Edit it
- Open the WhatsApp channel in Admin Center.
- Open the business profile.
- Set the display name, description, address, email and website.
- Add a profile picture.
- Save.
What to put in the description
What you help with, and when. Customers read this before deciding whether to message, and a description saying when you answer prevents a message at eleven at night followed by disappointment.
Something like: questions about orders and deliveries, weekdays nine to five.
The display name is checked
Meta reviews it and expects it to match your business. A playful name is likely to be rejected, and changing it later means another review.
Verification decides what you may do
Until the business verification in Meta Business Manager is complete, the account runs with restricted access: customer-initiated conversations are unlimited, but you may notify only 250 unique customers in a rolling 24-hour period, you may register two phone numbers, and an Official Business Account cannot be applied for at all.
Verification can be done at any time and lifts those restrictions, which is why it is worth starting early rather than when a campaign is already planned.
Keep it current
Opening hours in the description go stale. Somebody should own this the way somebody owns your website footer, because it is seen by every customer who messages you and by nobody internally.
The profile picture
Your logo, at the size WhatsApp shows it, which is small and round. Check what it looks like on a phone rather than in the upload dialog.
