pluscloud AI Agent Preview ("the extension") is a browser extension by pluscloud CX B.V., High Tech Campus 83, 5656 AG Eindhoven, the Netherlands ("pluscloud", "we"). It shows Zendesk AI agents (Advanced) test conversations as they would appear to customers on different channels. This policy explains what data the extension handles, what pluscloud receives and why.
Effective date: 6 October 2026
In short:
- The preview works inside your browser. Your test conversations, AI agent content, conversation logs and customer data are never sent to pluscloud.
- After you activate the extension, pluscloud records who uses it and when, together with your Zendesk account's plan and active features, so we can support you and tailor tips to your account.
- You receive onboarding emails about using the extension, which you can turn off at any time.
- We only send you our newsletter if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- We don't sell data and don't use it for advertising.
1. Data pluscloud receives
When you activate the extension, it shows you the email address of the Zendesk user you are signed in with, and asks you to accept the terms of use and this policy. From then on, the extension sends the following to pluscloud:
| Data | When | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your email address and name in Zendesk | At activation and with each usage event | Knowing who uses the extension; support; addressing you in onboarding emails | Legitimate interest |
| Your Zendesk user ID, role (for example admin or agent) and subdomain | At activation, and at most once a day | Support, and guidance that fits your role | Legitimate interest |
| Information about your Zendesk account: account ID, name, country, time zone, languages, sandbox and creation date; the plan per product (Support or Suite, chat, voice, AI and others), number of agent seats, trial, suspended and renewal date; active features and the AI, voice and chat settings; number of brands. No payment or billing details. | At activation, and at most once a day | Tailoring onboarding and tips to your account's plan and features; support | Legitimate interest |
| Usage events: activation, an AI agents dashboard session (at most once every 12 hours per account), a preview opened (at most once an hour per account and channel), with the channel and whether it was a test or a logged conversation | When they happen | Understanding how the extension is used and which channels matter | Legitimate interest |
| Extension version and browser language | With each event | Support, and knowing which versions are in use | Legitimate interest |
| Your acceptance of the terms: version and time | At activation | Proof of acceptance | Contract, legitimate interest |
| Your choice about the newsletter: yes or no, time, and the wording you saw | At activation and when you change it | Proof of consent | Legal obligation |
| Newsletter subscription | Only if you opt in | Sending you our newsletter | Consent |
"Legitimate interest" means Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR: we need to know who uses a business tool we provide, and with which plan and features, in order to support it, guide its users and develop it. You can object to this at any time (see section 6); the extension then can't be used, because usage measurement is part of how we provide it.
The extension reads the account information with your own access in Zendesk. Some of it, such as the subscription, is only readable for admins; for other users it is left out.
Onboarding emails. Everyone who activates the extension receives emails with tips for using it, matched to the account's plan and features. These are service messages about the extension you use. You can turn them off with the link in every email, without affecting anything else.
On dashboard.ultimate.ai the extension can't see your Zendesk account, so it sends nothing from there.
pluscloud stores this data in Customer.io, the customer engagement platform of Customer.io Inc. (United States), which processes it for us under a data processing agreement. Transfers to the United States are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We also send the onboarding emails and, if you opt in, the newsletter through Customer.io.
2. Data that stays in your browser
To show the preview, the extension reads the following in your browser tab. None of it is sent to pluscloud.
| Data | Source | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Test conversation content: messages, buttons, session parameters, conversation IDs | The AI agents test widget in your browser tab | Showing the preview and the inspector |
| Web Widget design: brand, colors, title, avatar, launcher, channels, widget snippet | Your Zendesk account, using your existing Zendesk session (Admin Center APIs); or Zendesk's public widget configuration service at ekr.zdassets.com
|
Matching the preview to your Web Widget; the embed code feature |
| AI agent settings: display name, avatar, languages, rich messaging, connected channels | Your Zendesk account, using your existing session | Matching the preview to your AI agent |
| Conversation logs: actions, API integration calls, knowledge searches | Your Zendesk account, using your existing session | The inspector's Log tab and "Show in preview" |
| Help Center articles cited as sources | Your Zendesk account's Help Center API | The in-widget article viewer |
| Your Zendesk user: email address, name, role, user ID | Your Zendesk account (/api/v2/users/me), using your existing session |
Showing the account at activation; the data in section 1 |
| Your Zendesk account: account, subscription, settings and brands | Your Zendesk account (/api/v2/account, /api/v2/account/subscription, /api/v2/account/settings, /api/v2/brands), using your existing session |
The account information in section 1 (payment and billing details are left out) |
3. Data stored on your device
The extension stores the following in Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage):
- your preview settings (on/off, channel, language, style, toggles);
- per Zendesk account: color overrides and Web Widget customization options;
- presentation preferences: background type, website or image address, warning bar text, CSS selectors to hide;
- an image you upload as a presentation background (optional);
- a cache of your account's public Web Widget configuration, kept for up to one hour;
- your acceptance of the terms and your newsletter choice, per email address; Chrome syncs these between your devices when Chrome sync is on;
- when usage events were last sent, so they are sent at most at the intervals in section 1.
This data stays on your device until you change it, clear the extension's data or remove the extension.
4. Websites you choose
In presentation mode you can show a website behind the preview, and webview buttons can open a web page in the preview. These pages load directly from those websites into your browser, as if you opened them in a tab. Before a site is shown, Chrome asks your permission for that site. The extension then:
- removes the site's frame-blocking headers, for that tab and only for frames the extension created;
- if you choose to, hides that site's chat widgets inside the preview frame.
It does not read or store the content of those websites. You can revoke site permissions at any time on chrome://extensions.
5. How long we keep data
- Usage data and account information: as long as you (or someone else from your account) use the extension, and up to 24 months after the last use.
-
Proof of acceptance and consent: as long as we need to be able to show it, and up to 24 months after your last use or after you withdraw.
-
Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe.
6. Your choices and rights
- Onboarding emails: turn them off with the link in every onboarding email.
- Newsletter: unsubscribe through the link in every newsletter, or turn it off in the extension's options (Activation and privacy).
-
Stop all data: deactivate the extension in its options, or remove it from Chrome. The extension then sends nothing.
-
Your rights: you can ask us for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email help@pluscloud.nl.
- Complaints: you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the authority in your country.
7. What we don't do
- We never receive your test conversations, AI agent content, conversation logs, customer data, or payment and billing details.
-
No advertising, no selling or renting of data, no tracking on other websites, no fingerprinting.
-
No remote code: all code ships with the extension.
The extension's use of data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
8. Permissions

| Optional access to websites | Requested per site, only when you pick a website background or open a webview. |
The data in section 1 is sent to Customer.io's data collection service (cdp.customer.io); this needs no extra permission.
9. Children
The extension is a business tool for Zendesk administrators and is not directed at children.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the effective date. When a change affects what pluscloud receives, the extension asks you to accept the new version.
