AI Agent Preview works in your browser and never sends test conversations to pluscloud. After activation, pluscloud sees who uses it and on which Zendesk plan.
What it reads
In the AI agents dashboard, only while you use it:
| Data | Where it comes from | What for |
|---|---|---|
| The test conversation: messages, buttons, session parameters and IDs | The test widget in your browser tab | The preview and the inspector |
| Your Web Widget design and snippet, brands, channels and support addresses | Your Zendesk account, through your own session; or the public configuration of your Web Widget | Matching the preview to your widget, the embed code and the email sender |
| The AI agent's settings: name, avatar, languages, rich messaging, connected channels | Your Zendesk account, through your own session | Matching the preview to your AI agent |
| The log of a test conversation, or of a conversation you show from the conversation logs | Your Zendesk account, through your own session | The Log tab, the read-only preview of a logged conversation and the conversation list |
| The Zendesk ticket of a conversation: number and status | Your Zendesk account, through your own session, for agents and admins | The Open ticket link |
| Help Center articles cited as sources, and whether they are public | The Help Center of your account; whether an article is public is checked without signing in | The article viewer in the widget |
| Your Zendesk user: email address, name, role and user ID | Your Zendesk account, through your own session | The activation, and the data pluscloud receives |
| Your Zendesk account: plan, active features, settings and brands | Your Zendesk account, through your own session | The account information pluscloud receives, without payment or billing details |
What the extension can read depends on your own roles; see Who can use AI Agent Preview. Session parameters can contain a name or an email address. They are only shown in the preview and the inspector. In the log, values marked as sanitized appear as dots.
On a website, the extension only reads the site's Zendesk Web Widget, and only after you switch the Web Widget inspector on for that site. What the inspector reads and keeps is in Getting started with the Web Widget inspector.
What it stores on your computer
- Your preview settings, such as the channel, language and style.
- Per Zendesk account: your colours, Web Widget customisation and sender address, and the last widget build and feature flags seen.
- Your presentation choices, and an image you uploaded as background.
- Per AI agent, your 20 most recent test conversations for the Web Widget's conversation list: their start time, conversation ID and last messages.
- Per AI agent, your test sets and the last 10 runs of each, with the AI agent's replies and response times.
- The settings of the Web Widget inspector per website, and of the DevTools panel.
- A copy of your Web Widget's public configuration, kept for up to an hour.
- Your acceptance of the terms and your newsletter choice per email address, synced to your other devices when Chrome sync is on.
- When usage data was last sent.
Everything is in Chrome's storage for extensions until you change it, clear the extension's data or remove the extension. Which settings exist is in The preview settings.
What pluscloud receives
After activation, pluscloud receives who uses the extension, on which Zendesk plan and when, and with the Web Widget inspector which Zendesk account an inspected widget belongs to, never the website. The full list, the emails and how to change your choices are in What pluscloud receives from AI Agent Preview. The full texts are in the privacy policy and the terms of use of AI Agent Preview.
What it does not do
pluscloud never receives your test conversations, AI agent content, conversation logs, customer data, or payment and billing details. pluscloud does not sell data or use it for advertising. The extension does not track your browsing: on other websites it only runs where you switch the inspector on, and it never sends their addresses. All code is part of the extension. It does not change your AI agent or your Zendesk configuration.
The permissions the extension asks Chrome for, and how it handles websites you choose, are in The permissions AI Agent Preview asks for.
