Put Collaboration 7 on your phone so calls to your extension reach you when you are away from your desk.
Install and sign in
- Download Collaboration 7 from the App Store or Google Play.
- Enter your company's Collaboration address.
- Sign in with your extension and password.
Allow notifications
Without notification permission you will not know a call is arriving until you open the app. Grant it when asked. If calls seem to arrive silently, check it in your phone settings before reporting anything.
Battery optimisation will break it
On Android especially, battery optimisation can stop the app receiving calls in the background. It looks like calls are not arriving at all, and it is the most common complaint about mobile calling.
Exclude the app from battery optimisation on phones where people rely on it. Where that is set differs by manufacturer.
If someone reports that mobile calls arrive late or not at all, check battery optimisation and notification permissions before anything else. It is these two, far more often than the network.
Moving a call between devices
A call on your laptop can move to your phone and back without hanging up. Useful when you need to leave your desk mid-conversation.
Wi-Fi and mobile data
Calls work on both. Wi-Fi is usually better, but a weak Wi-Fi signal is worse than good mobile data. If audio breaks up in one particular spot, turning Wi-Fi off there often fixes it.
