Set up Kite on your website

Plan requirement

Subscription UC-Business or higher, x-bees Standard or higher

Kite puts a call and chat button on your website, so visitors reach you from the browser without dialling anything.

What a visitor gets

A button on your site that starts a chat, a call or a video call straight from the browser. No app, no account, no phone number to copy.

The value is the moment: someone reading your page with a question can ask it there, instead of hunting for a contact page and giving up.

Kite or an x-bees widget

  • Kite works with Collaboration 7 and needs UC-Business to be reachable.
  • The x-bees website widget is the equivalent for x-bees, configured on SuperBee.

Which one you use follows the product you run rather than being a real choice.

Getting it on your site

The widget is configured and then embedded in your pages. The embedding step usually needs whoever maintains your website.

Tell us which team should receive Kite contacts and we will configure it with you.

Where to place it

Everywhere is the default and rarely the best answer. Contact pages and pages where people compare options catch someone with a real question. A blog post mostly catches people who were browsing.

Only add it if someone is watching. An unanswered Kite request is worse than no button: the visitor asked and got silence. Agree who covers it and what happens outside office hours before it goes live.

In your email signature

A Kite link works in a signature too, so a customer reading your email can call you with one click rather than copying a number into a phone.
