Put a chat and call button on your website so visitors reach a team directly, without a form or a phone number.
Widget or personal link
- A widget reaches a team. Whoever is available picks it up. Right for a website.
- A personal contact-me link reaches one person. Right for an email signature or a proposal.
Configuring widgets needs SuperBee; being reachable through one needs Standard.
Set one up
- Configure the widget in x-bees: which team it reaches, how it looks, what it says.
- Copy the code it produces.
- Paste it into your website, before the closing body tag.
The second step usually needs whoever maintains your site.
Where to put it
Everywhere is the default and rarely the best answer. A widget on your contact page, and wherever people compare options, catches someone with a question they were about to give up on. On a blog post it mostly catches people who were not going to buy anything.
Only add it if someone is watching. A widget that goes unanswered is worse than no widget: the visitor asked and got silence. Decide who covers it and what happens outside office hours before it goes live.
Out of hours
Set expectations in the widget text rather than leaving people guessing. "We reply within a few hours on weekdays" is better than an empty box at 22:00.
What the visitor experiences
They type a message and are asked to verify an email address. That verification is what keeps the conversation alive, so they can return later and find the same thread.
