Faxes and voicemails arrive as messages in the x-bees conversation with that caller, instead of in a separate inbox.
How it works
When a fax or voicemail comes in, it appears as its own message in the conversation with the sender. Everything from that caller then sits in one thread: their calls, their messages, and now their voicemails and faxes.
If no conversation exists yet, one is created for the fax or voicemail.
Things worth knowing
- Fax and voicemail messages have no read indicator, so they do not show as read or unread the way a normal message does.
- If someone leaves such a conversation or removes its members, everyone is added back automatically the next time that caller sends a fax or voicemail.
- The title of a fax or voicemail message is always in English.
- A fax message does not yet show the remote ID, the status, or the number of pages.
Converting a caller into a CRM contact starts a new conversation. Faxes and voicemails they sent before that stay in the original conversation. Your colleagues can still find them there, but they are no longer part of the thread with the contact. If a fax matters, save it somewhere else before you convert the caller.
Replying
In a conversation with someone known only by a phone number, x-bees lets you type a message, but it cannot be delivered unless SMS is set up for that number. Call them back or send an email instead.
