Why bother

Inside Collaboration 7 a matched number already shows a name. Outside it, on your personal mobile or in your mail client, the same number arrives bare. Syncing closes that gap.

It also means you can call a customer from your phone's own dialler and still know who you are calling.

What can sync

Contacts sync to iOS, Android, macOS and desktop mail clients such as Thunderbird and Outlook. Which contacts depends on what you have access to: shared phonebooks, your personal contacts, or both.

Setting it up

Syncing uses a standard contacts protocol, so the exact steps depend on your device. You will need the address of your phonebook and your credentials.

Ask us for the details for your system rather than working from generic instructions, because the address differs per customer.

One-way

The sync brings work contacts to your device. It does not push your personal contacts into the company phonebook, which is what most people want and worth stating plainly.

Number format still matters

Names appear only where the number matches. Contacts stored in full international format work on any device; locally formatted ones frequently do not.
