Invite customers and suppliers into a meeting without them installing anything or creating an account.
Invite someone from outside
- Create the meeting and invite them by email. The invitation carries a link to join in the browser and a local phone number they can dial to join in audio only.
- Send it in advance, not two minutes before.
- Say which browser. A conference runs in Chrome, Chromium, Safari 12.1 and higher, Edge 79 and higher, and Firefox. If they will share their screen, that needs Chrome 72 or Firefox 66.
- Join a minute early yourself.
They open the link in a browser and they are in: no account, no download, no subscription on their side. That matters when you are inviting someone who has never heard of Wildix, because there is nothing for them to sign up for.
That phone number in the invitation is the fix for the guest on a train whose video keeps dropping. It is in every invitation already; people do not read that far.
What you need
Creating a room with external participants needs UC-Business or higher. Everyone can join a conference; creating one is the part that needs the plan.
What the guest sees first
Guests get a video preview before they join, where they can sort out their microphone and camera. It is enabled by default, and it is the reason a guest who has never done this before usually arrives working rather than silent.
Their browser will still ask permission for the microphone. Warn them, because people who are not expecting that prompt click the wrong thing.
And be in the room first: a guest who arrives to an empty one often assumes they have the wrong link and leaves.
Ongoing conversations, not just meetings
If you want customers in a continuing thread rather than a one-off meeting, that is what x-bees is for. Guests join a conversation, take part in chat and video, and come back to the same thread later.
Recording with guests present
Tell them before you start. With external participants this is not optional in most countries.
