Start a video meeting from Collaboration 7, invite colleagues and people outside your company, and share your screen.
Everyone can join a video conference. Not everyone can start one. Creating a room needs UC-Business or higher. If the option is missing, that is why.
Start a meeting
- Create a conference room from the video section.
- Invite participants, by name for colleagues or by email for anyone outside.
- Start.
External guests join in their browser without installing anything or creating an account.
Share your screen
Share your whole screen or a single window. Sharing one window is usually the better choice: your inbox, your calendar and your notifications stay private.
On macOS you need to grant screen recording permission to your browser the first time, in System Settings. Until you do, sharing appears to start but participants see a blank area.
Check your audio first
The most common meeting problem is the wrong microphone selected. Check your audio devices in Settings before an important call rather than during it.
Recording
Meetings can be recorded. Tell participants before you start. In most countries that is a legal requirement rather than good manners.
Bigger audiences
For a one-to-many session with an audience rather than a discussion, Webinar Mode is a better fit than a normal conference. It needs a Wizywebinar subscription alongside UC-Business.
