Your voicemail PIN is separate from your account password, which is why one of them keeps getting rejected. Here is how to change it.
Two different credentials
This trips people up constantly.
- Your password signs you in to Collaboration 7, x-bees and a desk phone.
- Your voicemail PIN is only for checking messages from a phone.
If a desk phone rejects your login, you are probably entering the PIN. If voicemail rejects you, you are probably entering the password.
Change it from a phone
- Call your voicemail from your own extension.
- Enter your current PIN.
- Open the mailbox options.
- Choose to change the PIN and enter a new one twice.
If you never set one
You may have been given an initial PIN when your account was created, or one may have been set for you. If you have no idea what it is, ask us to reset it rather than guessing repeatedly.
Do not use 1234 or your extension. Voicemail can be reached from outside, and messages from customers are not something you want anyone able to guess their way into.
Listening without a PIN
In Collaboration 7 and x-bees your messages are simply there, playable in the browser. The PIN only applies to reaching voicemail from a handset, so most people rarely need it.
