Zendesk AI is charged two different ways. Copilot is per agent; AI agents are per automated resolution, which behaves nothing alike.
Copilot: per agent, per month
Copilot is an add-on bought per agent seat, at EUR 50 per agent per month on the Zendesk pricing page in August 2026. It covers the AI that helps your agents: reply suggestions, summaries, auto assist, intelligent triage and admin copilot.
The cost is fixed and predictable. It scales with your team, not with your ticket volume.
AI agents: per automated resolution
Different model entirely. AI agents are included with every Suite and Support plan; what is metered is the outcome. You are charged when the AI agent resolves a customer's request on its own, without it escalating to a person.
Zendesk does not publish a per-resolution figure on the pricing page, so this is a number to get in writing before you plan around it.
Why the difference matters
Copilot costs the same whether your volume doubles or halves. AI agents cost more as they succeed more, and nothing when they do not.
That has a genuine consequence: a successful AI agent deployment increases that line on your bill. It should reduce others by more, but the two do not move together and they are not on the same page of your invoice.
What to establish before you commit
- The rate per automated resolution, in writing.
- What counts as resolved, precisely. Escalation later, or a follow-up ticket, are the edge cases worth pinning down.
- Whether there is an allowance included before charging starts.
- What happens in a month where volume spikes.
Usage-based pricing rewards understanding it. Ask us to walk through the numbers with you using your actual volume before you turn anything on. This is the one place in Zendesk where a configuration decision moves your bill directly.
