What it gives you

• Right-click a phone number anywhere on a web page, choose Collaboration 7, and select Call. This is the one that matters, because it works on plain text, not only on numbers a site has bothered to turn into links.
• Right-click an email address and create a conversation with that person.
• One-click dialling of real telephone links, the tel, sip, callto and wildix kind.
• An Add Collaboration 7 meeting button in Google and Microsoft 365 calendars. The joining link goes into the event description, and once you add participants and save, a conversation with them is created for you.
• Quick access from the toolbar icon, which opens Collaboration 7 in a tab.

For someone working through a list of records, that is a saving on every single call.

Setting it up

1. In the Chrome Web Store, search for the Collaboration 7 extension. It is listed under that name, not under Wildix.
2. Choose Add to Chrome and confirm with Add extension.
3. Make sure the Integration Service on your computer is current. The telephone-link support and the calendar button both need WIService 3.19.4 or later.

There is an Edge version as well, so this is not a reason to change browser.

A faster way to dial: the hot key

Select a number anywhere and press F11, and the call is placed on whichever device is active in Collaboration 7. You can change the key under call settings, in the Dialing hot key field. It needs WIService 3.14.9 or later.

For a long list, this beats right-clicking, because your hand never leaves the keyboard.

Numbers that stay unreachable

A number inside an image cannot be selected or right-clicked, which catches people working from scanned documents or screenshots. Nothing on the browser side can fix that.
