The Chrome extension turns phone numbers on any web page into links you can call, which suits people who work inside a CRM all day.
What it gives you
A number on a web page becomes clickable, and clicking it places the call over Wildix. It works on any site, including CRMs and internal tools that have no telephony integration of their own.
For someone working through a list of records, that is a saving on every single call.
Setting it up
- Open the Chrome Web Store and find the Wildix extension.
- Choose Add to Chrome, then confirm with Add extension.
- Click the W icon that appears in Chrome.
- Enter your PBX domain, which looks like company.wildixin.com.
Your PBX domain is the address you sign in to Collaboration with. If you are not sure, it is in the address bar.
When to use this instead
The extension is for people running Collaboration inside Chrome. If you use the desktop app, the Integration Service already makes numbers clickable across the whole computer rather than only in the browser, which is the better option.
There is no harm in having both, but only one of them will handle a given click.
Numbers that stay unclickable
A number stored in an unusual format is the usual reason. The extension looks for something recognisable as a phone number, and an internal reference with the digits run together will not qualify.
Numbers inside an image are also out of reach, which catches people using scanned documents.
