What to do when a website will not appear behind a presentation, its own chat stays visible, or a webview or sign-in page does not load in the preview.
The site asks for permission again, or stays blank
Before a website appears behind the preview, the preview shows a card that asks to show the site. Click Allow and confirm in the window Chrome opens. If you close that window or decline, the card says that permission was not granted. Click Allow again to retry.
The permission is per domain. A page on another domain, for example a separate shop or booking site, asks again. You can check and remove the sites the extension may use on chrome://extensions, under the details of AI Agent Preview. What the permission allows is in The permissions AI Agent Preview asks for.
The site refuses to connect
- Use the final address. Many sites redirect, and the address you typed may lead elsewhere. Open the site in a normal tab, copy the address from there and use that.
- Some sites cannot be shown inside another page at all, and Chrome then says the site refused to connect. Use an image background with a screenshot of the site instead.
How you set a website or an image as background is in Showing your website or an image behind the preview.
The site's own chat is still visible
Check that Hide the website's own chat widgets is on. It hides the site's Zendesk Web Widget and other common chat widgets. If the site uses something else, find the element in Chrome's developer tools and add its CSS selector under Extra elements to hide (CSS selectors), one per line, for example #chat-button. Start the presentation again to apply it.
An image does not appear
- An uploaded image must be smaller than 8 MB. The preview says so when it is too large.
- An image URL must point straight to the image file, and the server must allow it to be shown on other pages.
A webview or sign-in button does not work
A webview button opens a panel over the conversation. Many sign-in pages refuse to load inside another page, and what happens in the panel does not reach the test conversation. The panel says so. Click Open in a new tab to check the page itself.
The first time a webview opens a site, the extension asks for permission for that site, as it does for a presentation background.
Still stuck
Tell us what you see, with the address of the site, the channel you preview and a screenshot, and we will look into it.
