Showing your website or an image behind the preview

App pluscloud AI Agent Preview
Subscription Suite Team or higher, Support Team or higher
Access Client admin, Client editor, Client user

In presentation mode the preview can stand in front of your own website or on an image, so the AI agent appears where your customers will meet it.

Use your website

  1. Click Presentation mode in the toolbar and choose Website under Background.
  2. Enter the page in Website address. The field starts with the Help Center of your Zendesk account. Use the address the page ends up on, because many sites redirect, for example from example.com to www.example.com.
  3. Click Start presentation or Full screen.
  4. The first time you use a site, the preview asks permission to show it. Click Allow and confirm in Chrome.

The Presentation mode panel next to the preview. Website is selected as background, with the address https://www.bluebirdbikes.example. The switch to hide the website's own chat widgets is on, followed by the field for extra CSS selectors and the buttons Full screen and Start presentation.

The permission covers the whole domain, such as everything under example.com, so a redirect within the site keeps working. The site then loads straight into your browser, only inside the preview. What the extension does with that permission is in The permissions AI Agent Preview asks for.

Hide the site's own chat

A website often has a chat button of its own, which would sit next to your preview. Hide the website's own chat widgets is on by default. It keeps the site's Zendesk Web Widget from loading and hides other common chat widgets, among them Intercom, HubSpot, Drift, Tidio, LiveChat, Crisp, Freshchat and tawk.to. This only happens inside the preview, not on the site itself.

For anything else, add CSS selectors under Extra elements to hide (CSS selectors), one per line, for example #chat-button or .my-widget.

Use an image

Choose Image under Background. Then either:

  • enter an Image URL, or
  • click Upload image and choose a screenshot or a design of your site. The image must be smaller than 8 MB. The extension scales large images down to at most 2,560 pixels and keeps them in this browser only.

An image is the way to go for a site that cannot be shown inside another page, for a page that is not live yet, or when you present without an internet connection to the site.

If the site does not appear

Some sites refuse to be shown inside another page, and Chrome then says the site refused to connect. Use an image of the site instead. Other causes and fixes are in A website or webview does not load in the preview.
