Which browser to use, which mobile versions are supported, and what your network has to allow before anyone can make a call.
Browser
Chrome is the supported browser. Other browsers may partly work, but calling in the browser depends on features that are not equally implemented everywhere, and audio problems in an unsupported browser are not worth diagnosing.
A Chrome extension adds click-to-call on web pages.
Mobile
- Android 9 or higher
- iOS 13.3 or higher
Microphone permission
The browser asks once for microphone access. Without it you can receive calls but nobody hears you, which is the most common first-day problem and looks like a fault in the system.
Network
Calling in a browser needs specific outbound connections to be allowed. On a corporate network with strict filtering this is the thing to check before blaming anything else.
If your firewall blocks by default, ask your network administrator to allow the Wildix services. We can supply the list for your setup rather than you working it out from generic documentation.
Wi-Fi is the most common cause of poor call quality. A laptop on a weak signal or roaming between access points will drop audio in a way that looks like a phone system problem. Test on a cabled connection before reporting call quality.
Headsets
Any headset your computer recognises will carry audio. Wildix headsets add the busy light and call control from the headset button.
