Adding seats, and the check worth doing first because it often makes the purchase unnecessary: a few usually sit empty.
Add them
- Open Admin Center, then Account, then Billing, then Subscription.
- Increase the number of seats.
- Confirm.
- Assign the new seats to people.
Check for unused seats first
Look at the agent list sorted by last sign-in. Most accounts have at least one seat held by somebody who left or moved on, and deactivating frees it immediately.
This check takes two minutes and quite often removes the need to buy anything.
Not everybody needs an agent seat
Somebody who only needs to read reports may manage with a role that does not consume a seat, depending on your plan. Somebody who only receives notifications does not need an account at all.
Worth asking what the person will actually do before assuming a full seat.
Light and contributor roles
Where your plan offers them, colleagues who occasionally comment internally can be added without a full agent seat. That covers a surprising share of "can we get them access" requests.
Adding mid-term
Seats added during a term are billed for the remainder, so the timing affects what it costs. Adding a batch at renewal is usually tidier than adding one at a time.
Removing is harder than adding
Reducing seats generally waits for renewal. That asymmetry is a reason not to over-provision "just in case".
