Article lists show a cut of your knowledge base that your section structure does not: by label, by date, by activity.

Add one

  1. Open the theme's code editor.
  2. Add an article list to the template you want it on.
  3. Set what it selects and how it sorts.
  4. Preview, then publish the theme.

Why they exist

An article lives in exactly one section, and readers arrive with more than one question in mind. A list is a second route to the same content without duplicating it.

Where they earn their place

  • Recently updated, on the home page, for returning readers.
  • Everything for one product, pulled together by label from wherever it sits.
  • Most viewed, which surfaces the answers people actually come for.

A list is only as good as its labels

A list built on a label shows exactly the articles carrying that label, including none of the ones somebody forgot to label. Where a list looks thin, check the labelling before rebuilding the list.

Two, maybe three

Every list on a page competes with the page's main purpose. A home page carrying five lists has no first thing to read.
