Can I customise the login page of my Help Center

Plan requirement

Subscription Suite Growth or higher, Guide Professional or higher
Access Admin

Partly. Branding and text yes, the sign-in mechanism no, and the useful change is usually a different one.

What you can change

  • Colours, logo and fonts, through the theme.
  • The surrounding text and headings in the theme's templates.
  • Which sign-in options appear, through your authentication settings.

What you cannot

How authentication itself works. The form, the validation and the account handling are Zendesk's, and that is deliberate: sign-in is exactly where a well-meant customisation becomes a security problem.

The change worth making first

Fewer people seeing the page at all. Most help centre content does not need a sign-in, and a customer who has to create an account to read an instruction usually leaves instead.

Check what is actually restricted before working on how the restriction looks.

Single sign-on changes the experience more than styling

Where customers or staff already have an account with you, connecting that removes the second password entirely. That is a bigger improvement than any amount of work on the page.

If you do style it

Say what happens after signing in, in one line. People arrive at a sign-in page from a link and have often forgotten what they were trying to reach.
