Branded calls with Extended CNAM

Plan requirement

Subscription CLASSOUND Core or CLASSOUND Pro

Show your company name alongside your number on outbound calls, so people know who is ringing before they answer.

The problem it solves

Answer rates for unknown numbers have collapsed. People screen calls, and a bare number from an unfamiliar area code often goes unanswered even when the call is expected.

A name next to the number changes that calculation for the person deciding whether to pick up.

How it works

Your company name is registered against your outbound numbers and presented alongside them. What the recipient sees depends on their network and handset, so coverage is good rather than universal.

Where it applies

Branded calling is a CLASSOUND feature. If your numbers run over Multi Carrier Trunks, this is not available on them.

Ask us which of your numbers could carry it, since it may not be all of them.

Register the name people actually know you by. A legal entity name that differs from your trading name will not help, and may make the call look less legitimate rather than more.

It is not a substitute for behaviour

Branding a number that makes unwanted calls gets you recognised faster, not welcomed. It helps expected calls get answered; it does not rescue cold outreach.

Related: blocking spoofed inbound calls

The reverse problem is people spoofing numbers to call you. CLASSOUND can block calls presenting numbers that fail verification. Worth asking about at the same time.
