Porting lead times by country

Plan requirement

Subscription Any or higher

Roughly how long porting a number takes in 39 countries, so you can plan the switch rather than hope.

Why it takes as long as it does

Porting is a regulated process between operators, and the timescale is set by the country rather than by us. A fortnight in one place is two months in another for the same piece of work.

These are working estimates from experience. A clean request lands near the figure; a request with a mismatched address or an unpaid final bill does not.

Plan backwards from the date

Take the lead time for your country, add time for gathering documents, and start there. Numbers keep working right up to the switch, so an early start costs nothing.

Leaving it late is what turns a routine port into an outage, because the old contract ends whether or not the port has completed.
