Put a click-to-call or click-to-chat link in your email signature, so customers reach you without dialling anything.
Why it works
A phone number in a signature has to be copied into a phone. A link is one click, from the device they are already reading on. The difference in how many people actually get in touch is larger than it sounds.
It also works outside office hours: someone reading your email at 22:00 can start a message or book a slot instead of making a note to call tomorrow, which they will not.
Generating it
Both Collaboration 7 and x-bees can generate a signature block for you, so the link is formatted and clickable rather than pasted as raw text. You will find it in Settings.
Copy it into your mail client's signature settings. In most clients you need to paste as formatted text, not plain, or the link becomes a line of characters.
Which link to use
- Kite on Collaboration 7, for a click-to-call or click-to-chat button.
- Your contact-me link on x-bees, which also lets people book a slot if your calendar is connected.
Keep your phone number in the signature as well. Some people will always prefer to dial, and a signature offering only a link looks evasive to them.
Rolling it out to a team
Signatures are usually managed centrally. If you want everyone to have one, generate a template and have whoever manages your mail set it up, rather than asking forty people to do it individually.
