Turn on noise suppression

Plan requirement

Subscription UC-Essential or higher

Noise suppression is built into Wildix and filters barking dogs, traffic and keyboard clatter out of your calls. It is off until you turn it on.

You do not need anything extra

Noise suppression has been part of Wildix since WMS 6.04. There is no separate product to buy and no per-user subscription for it. If you were told otherwise at some point, that advice predates the feature.

Turning it on

In a video meeting, open the Advanced tab in the meeting settings and scroll to Noise suppression.

On the Web Phone in the legacy Collaboration client, it sits in Settings under Web Phone.

It is off by default in both places, which is why most people have never heard it working.

What it removes

Steady and repetitive background sound: traffic, air conditioning, keyboard clatter, a dog two rooms away, the general hum of an office. Speech from the person on the call is what it is trained to keep.

When to leave it off

If you play music or audio deliberately down the line, filtering will fight you. For ordinary conversation, leave it on.

Across a whole company

It can be set for everyone on the system at once, with individual choices still taking precedence. open a ticket if you want it enabled as the default for your organisation.
