Your extension and password get you in. Here is what to check in the first five minutes so your first call goes well.

Signing in

Where you sign in depends on which product you have.

  • Collaboration 7. Your company's Collaboration address, with your extension and password.
  • x-bees. app.x-bees.com, with Google, Microsoft 365 or an email verification code.

Do not know your extension or your company's address? Ask whoever manages your phone system, or ask us.

Then do these three things

1. Allow the microphone

Your browser asks once. Dismiss it and you can receive calls but nobody will hear you, which looks exactly like a broken system.

2. Choose your audio devices

Open Settings and select your headset as microphone and speaker. The browser picks a default that is often the laptop microphone even with a headset plugged in.

3. Make a test call

Call a colleague before your first real call. Thirty seconds now beats discovering an audio problem while a customer waits.

Use Chrome. Other browsers may partly work, and audio problems in an unsupported browser are not worth diagnosing.

Worth setting up on day one

  • Your voicemail greeting, so callers do not hear a default recording
  • Your presence, so colleagues know when to call
  • The mobile app, so calls reach you away from your desk
