See who is at the door before you accept the call, and release the lock from your phone without walking over.

Video before answer

On supported door stations the picture appears while it is still ringing, so you can look before you speak. Worth having on a delivery entrance or a back door where you would rather know first.

Whether it works depends on the door station model. Not all support it, and it has to be configured when the station is installed.

Releasing the door

A button on the phone or in Collaboration 7 releases the lock during the call. On a desk phone this is usually a function key.

Decide who should have it. Door release is a security control, not a convenience feature. Someone who can open the building from any phone is a different risk from someone who has to be at reception. Agree the list before it is configured.

Routing the door

The door is a caller like any other, so the same tools apply. It can ring a call group, follow your timetable so evenings go elsewhere, or reach a mobile when nobody is in the building.

That routing is yours to change: it is a call group and a timetable like any other.

Out of hours

Worth deciding deliberately. A door that rings an empty reception at 19:00 leaves a courier standing outside. Point it somewhere, or give callers a message telling them what to do.

Who does what

The wiring and the lock circuit are electrical work at your building, so your own electrician takes care of those. We supply the hardware and do the configuration, including the door release.

Tell us which door station you have and we will confirm what needs preparing before your electrician starts.
