Linking a registered headset to your own account, so it rings for you rather than for nobody.
Before you start
The headset has to be registered to a base already, and not currently paired to someone else. A headset that is still attached to a colleague's account will not offer itself to yours.
Connect it
- Open Collaboration and sign in with your own account.
- Go to Devices in the top bar and choose Add device.
- Press the Call button on the headset. It reads out a four-digit pairing code.
- Type that code into the box in Collaboration.
- Wait for it to finish. The headset appears in your device list.
The code is spoken, not shown
A headset has no screen, so the code arrives in your ear. Have it on before you press the call button, or you will be pressing it again.
If no code comes
- Check it is registered to the base. An unregistered headset has nothing to speak to.
- Check it is not still paired to another account.
- Check the battery. A headset low on charge drops out part way through.
Moving it to somebody else
Remove it from your device list first. Handing over the hardware without doing that leaves it attached to you, and calls keep arriving on a headset you no longer have.
