No. An admin is an agent with more permissions, and it costs the same. Which has one useful consequence for your security.
The pricing
Seats are priced per agent, whatever their role. Making somebody an admin does not change the bill, and demoting an admin does not save anything.
The useful consequence
There is no financial reason to keep somebody as an admin. If they do not need admin permissions, take them away, and it costs nothing to do so.
Fewer admins is a security improvement available for free, which is unusual.
How many admins
Two or three for most organisations. Enough that somebody is always available, few enough that changes are traceable to a small group.
Accounts with a dozen admins usually got there by granting it to solve one problem at a time.
What does change the bill
- The number of seats.
- The plan level, which applies to all of them.
- Add-ons, some of which are also per seat.
- Usage-based items such as automated resolutions.
Add-ons are the exception worth checking
Copilot, for instance, is bought per agent seat at a published list price of €50 per agent per month on an annual plan. Which agents have it is your decision, and it does not have to be everybody.
