Can I export data from an expired account

Plan requirement

Yes, within 90 days of the cancellation date, and only after the account has been temporarily reactivated. There is a second condition most people discover too late: data exports have to be available on your plan and switched on for the account, which is not the default.

How do I get my data out of an account that has expired?

First, ask for a temporary reactivation. Contact pluscloud support today with your subdomain and the date the account expired. Exporting needs a working account, so restoring access is a prerequisite and not an alternative.

Then check that data export is enabled on the account, and have it switched on if it is not.

Then export everything in one go: tickets, users, organisations, and your help centre content and theme. Doing it in stages risks the window closing between them.

Only afterwards deal with whatever caused the expiry, usually an unpaid invoice.

Why the 90 days runs out sooner than the cancellation date suggests

The clock starts at the cancellation date, not at the moment somebody noticed. By the time an expired account is reported internally, a good part of the window has usually gone, and nothing warns you it is running.

The cheap protection is to enable data export while the account is healthy, and to keep billing on a shared mailbox with the renewal date in a calendar. An export you can start the same afternoon is worth more than any argument about why the invoice went unpaid.
