Compare the four Collaboration plans feature by feature, so you can pick per person instead of over-licensing everyone.

The short answer

  • UC-Basic for phones nobody signs into: meeting rooms, fax machines, door phones, hotel rooms
  • UC-Essential for most colleagues, who need calling, chat and presence
  • UC-Business for anyone who creates meetings, talks to people outside the company, or needs a CRM integration
  • UC-Premium for people who manage call groups or read reporting

The smallest plan that fits is not always the cheapest outcome. Licences come in volume tiers, so putting more people on the same plan can work out better than splitting them across three types. Which combination suits you depends on your numbers, and it changes as you grow. Tell us who needs what and we will work it out with you. Helping you land on the right mix is part of what we do, so ask rather than guess.

The three boundaries that catch people out

Joining versus creating a meeting

Everyone can join a video conference. Only UC-Business and above can create one. Someone reporting that the meeting button is missing is on UC-Essential.

CRM integrations start at Business

A colleague on UC-Essential can call perfectly well while nothing reaches HubSpot or Salesforce. Check the plan before the integration settings.

Being measured versus reading the numbers

Agents need UC-Business to be monitored by x-caracal. Their supervisor needs UC-Premium to see the results. These are different plans for the same team.

Changing someone's plan

In WMS, go to Users, edit the person and set the License type. Immediate, provided you hold a free licence of that type.
